The Virginia General Assembly we elect in 2019 will determine which party gets to gerrymander us in 2021.
Although the Supreme Court has little to say about this issue, to achieve real democracy we need fair, non-partisan districting. To get that, we need an independent commission. To get an independent commission, we can do two things. We can vote for candidates who favor such a commission, and we (like over 750,000 Virginians) can sign the petition (at OneVirginia2021.org) demanding a constitutional amendment to create the commission.
It's past time for gerrymandering to slither away.
